Vietnam Resolving Maritime Disputes

By Joe Fotalattee

An agreement announced on December 23rd resolves Indonesia and Vietnam’s 12-year maritime boundary dispute.

The agreement announced during Vietnam’s President Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s 3-day state visit to Indonesia will ease long-standing tensions between the two nations. China asserts ownership of a portion of the territory that Vietnam and Indonesia had previously disputed, but China’s claim of “historic rights” to the region was rejected when Indonesia and China settled their boundary dispute under the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). The agreement is a significant step toward a unified front by China’s neighbors in the peaceful resolution of maritime disputes in the South China Sea.

The agreement was a component of numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation. By 2028, the two leaders hope to increase bilateral trade to $15 billion. It also resolves years of disputes over fishing areas in the region.

Third Leg Skin Flute Spared

By Joe Fotalatte

An unnamed patient, who we will refer to as Ding Dong Wang Schlong for this article, was hospitalized in Hanoi on Thursday after receiving silicone injections intended to enlarge his one-eyed trouser snake.

The patient had swollen rumpleforeskin at the hospital, and doctors removed silicone and reconstructed the patient’s wiener schnitzel mini-me, according to VnExpress.

There are several ways to enlarge a meat stick pocket rocket, but all methods must be carried out in secure facilities by qualified medical professionals. Self-inflicted silicone injections of a cranny hunter flapdoodle result in discomfort, erectile dysfunction, and problems during sexual activity with one’s frank and beans fire hose. Many severe cases lead to amputation of the banana bratwurst anaconda fiddle spindle pulling prick plum tree shaker.

200,000 Strokes Per Year In Vietnam

By Joe Fotalattee

On December 28, a report presented at the National Scientific Conference On Stroke Treatment stated that Vietnam records 200,000 strokes annually.

Only one-third of these patients visit the hospital within the first six hours, the so-called “golden hours,” when treatment is most effective.

The Vietnam Association of Oriental Medicine organized the event and noted that stroke has severe repercussions, affecting the patient’s capacity for independent living and placing a heavy financial burden on society. According to the study, the percentage of patients who develop dementia after a stroke ranges from 6 to 41%. .

The conference is a discussion of methods that can be used in clinical practice and improve patient treatment.

What are stroke symptoms?

  • Suddenly feeling numb or weak, especially on one side of the body, in the face, arm, or leg.
  • Suddenly having trouble speaking or understanding speech.
  • Sudden vision issues in one or both eyes.
  • Sudden difficulty walking, lightheaded, losing your balance, or having poor coordination.
  • Abrupt, debilitating headache with no apparent cause.

Vietnam’s Economic Growth in 2022

By Joe Fotalattee

In 2022 Vietnam had the fastest annual growth rate in GDP since 1997 thanks to robust domestic retail sales and exports, which increased by 8.02 percent.

The reading is higher than the official growth target of 6.5 percent and growth of just 2.58 percent in the previous year, when COVID lock-downs hurt the economy and affected factory activity.

Despite worries about a global recession and its effects on demand for Vietnam’s exports—a major producer of goods like apparel, footwear, and electronics for well-known international brands—the country has experienced a high annual growth rate.

The General Statistics Office (GSO) stated in a report that “the economic performance is noteworthy amid global economic and political uncertainty and challenges.”.

According to the report, consumer prices increased by 4.55 percent in December from a year earlier. Retail sales increased 19.8 percent in 2022, while exports increased 10.6 percent to $371.85 billion, according to the GSO.

In a separate incident, a resident of the southern province of Kien Giang attempted to board a plane while using another person’s boarding pass and ID card. He has been denied boarding for 12 months and will undergo visual inspections at security checkpoints for another six months.

Passing The Buck

By Joe Fotalattee

The central bank’s deputy governor Dao Minh Tu said at a news conference on Tuesday that “The central bank will continue its purchases of foreign currencies.”.

Vietnam is working to strengthen foreign exchange reserves by acquiring more U. S. dollars to support its dong currency.

In order to increase their own reserves or supply them to the nation’s banks, central banks intervene in the foreign exchange market. Frequently, they want to keep the exchange rate stable.

An estimate of Vietnam’s foreign exchange reserves this time last year was at $100 billion.

Major Report From US Congress Ignored By Vietnamese Media

The arm of corporate media runs long and deep.

by Joe Fotalattee

The Vietnamese press likes to follow Elon Musk’s latest Tweets, but continues to ignore the pending indictments of former president Donald Trump.

The final Jan. 6 select committee report published on Thursday was completely ignored, and I had hoped it was because of Christmas festivities because I didn’t ever want to write about this asshole again.

However, five days have passed and we have to recap, hopefully only once again, why that criminal orange clown is on the faces of books at every Vietnamese bookstore. If Vietnam Beat doesn’t work out, we will write “Satan’s Guide To Unethical Business, Not Paying Taxes, Stiffing Contractors and Preventing Blacks From Renting Apartments.”

Trump was the “central cause” of the incident, according to the report: “The central cause of January 6th was one man, former President Donald Trump, whom many others followed. Without him, none of the activities on January 6th would have occurred. “.

The report’s findings are detailed in its more than 800 pages, which also include the rationale behind the committee’s recommendation that the Justice Department bring a former president to justice for the first time in U.S. history.

The report stated the attack was “foreseeable”. It provides a damning account of how law enforcement responded to unsettling intelligence before the attack.

To attempt to overturn Joe Biden’s victory in Georgia, Trump made 18 attempts to contact the Secretary Of State there.

The “entire White House senior staff” wanted Trump to step in, according to the report: “The entire White House senior staff was in favor of a Presidential statement” urging all rioters to leave the Capitol.

Two days before the assault, then-President Trump insisted he wanted to march with protesters to the Capitol and floated the idea … Read more

Dangerous Fireworks Are Still Illegal

by Joe Fotalattee

A local official in the Dak Lak province of the Central Highlands confirmed that one child had died and three other children had suffered serious injuries while allegedly playing with firecrackers. Tuoi Tre News reported the incident, which is a somber reminder to remember safety when celebrating this Tet Lunar New Year.

Fireworks have been more accessible in recent years, but the more dangerous ones remain illegal.

Order No. 137, published on November 28, 2020, loosened the restrictions on fireworks and firecrackers, which private use had been prohibited since 1994. In addition to public holidays like Tet and Hung King’s Day, institutions, organizations, people over the age of 18, and businesses can now light fireworks on special occasions like birthdays, weddings, conferences, grand openings, anniversaries, and other cultural events.

The decree, however, made it clear that “explosive sounds” are not permitted and that only “non-explosive” fireworks and firecrackers that produce sound, light, and color are permitted. Sparklers were listed as an acceptable item, but fireworks that shoot into the air are still prohibited.
